Sango Valley Rhinos Conservancy
In July of 2018 Alex and Angela, accompanied by world renowned tree climber and arborist Joe Harris, visited the Sango Ranch in Zimbabwe, to guide and teach the resident anti-poaching unit some modern (and traditional) tree climbing techniques.
Their goal, is that by imparting their knowledge onto the rangers who are protecting the abundant wildlife in the area – including a key population of critically endangered Black & White Rhinos – they will be able to use their newly acquired knowledge and skills to better protect all the animals that live within the conservancy.
Fast forward a few years, Alex and Bryce (Lead Ranger / Anti-Poaching & Tracking Specialist) are still in contact between Zimbabwe & Australia to discuss tree climbing products, techniques and the potential for future trips for arborists to the Sango Conservancy.
